Hubei turquoise briolette & amber single strand necklace and earrings.
Hubei turquoise - this is something you don't see everyday !
This is genuine turquoise (stabilized) in the most beautiful deep turquoise teal blue with brown veining and is a rare find from the Hubei mine in China.
Graduated flat briolette gemstones are interspersed with natural Baltic amber rondelles....turquoise & amber being one of my all time favourite colour combos.
The briolettes range from 23mm in length at the centre to approx 11mm around the sides. The amber rondelles are approx 9mm diameter and are place asymmetrically amongst the turquoise.
The necklace is finished around the neck with several inches of very sturdy & comfortable large 7mm round link sterling chain on each side along with a lobster clasp.
Co-ordinating earrings are 13mm turquoise briolettes wire wrapped in sterling silver with sterling large round earwires.
Total earring drop length approx 40mm
The ideal wearing length for this necklace is about 19 1/2" but the large link chain allows it to be worn as short as 17" or as long as 20 3/4"
This piece has a very organic look and is lightweight.
The necklace may be purchased with or without the earrings. Please choose from the drop down menu below when placing your order.
Necklace $409.00, Earrings $39.00, Set $439.00
Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in the history of man, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection. Its unique shade of blue or blue-green, lends it name to this tranquil hue. The delicate veining in cream or brown is inherent to the stone and serves to enhance its character.
Caring for your turquoise: Turquoise is a porous stone and can be discoloured by chemicals, cosmetics or even skin oils and perspiration. Sunscreen or oil based products which may contain solvents can damage the stabilization and change the colour of the stone. Limit exposure to chemicals, oil and heat.
For cleaning use a soft cotton cloth with warm water only, free of cleaning agents.
